Today I will start my first post on this blog to talk about Mousehunt. Mousehunt is one of my favourite games in Facebook. I think this is the best game I ever played in Facebook. Why? Because, I really like the gameplay, it’s like a RPG games that require you to collect money, experience and certain items to move forward. This game also has a feature to craft your items that make it really interesting for you to collect all the items needed to make a devastating weapon :) . This game also has a very long play time until you acquired everything.

One thing that makes this game really great on Facebook is because this game doesn’t require you to add more friends to add your power like any other games. I don’t like a game when I have to add more people to add power because it will just choke up my account with strangers that I have never known. Also you must know that add stranger to your account is violating Facebook ToS and may caused your account being frozen / banned. If you have more friends on Mousehunt it will just add you a slight amount of points. It will add you 25 points / friend and maximum 250 points for every friend in the same area with you and ready to hunt. That means you will have to add a really massive amount of strangers again if you want to always get that points. And I think it is worthless because in high level hunting area, 250 points is maybe less than 10% of your average hunting points per hunt. Another advantage of has many friends is you just need to check your trap every hour and all of your other friend will blow the horn for you and you just see the result (Please note that with this method you will not get the bonus points from friend because you are not sound the horn yourself).

What you have to do in this game is really simple. At first time you play the game you will be guided about how to play this game. The trap you choose on the first time doesn’t really matter but the tacky glue trap is slightly better because it has high attraction rate. After the tutorial, all you need to do is just sound the horn every 15 minutes.  Every time you sound the horn, you have a chance to attract mouse based on your attraction rate bonus (on trap base & weapon), cheese (Super Brie + has 99% of attraction rate, and until now I never failed to attract by using it on non specific cheese area). There are 3 types of result every time you sound the horn on the first time:

  • You attract and catch the mouse, you will get points and money based on the mouse type and one of your cheese is lost.
  • You failed to attract and your cheese can be used again, you will get nothing and nothing is lost.
  • You failed to attract and your cheese become stale, you will get a stale cheese and one of your cheese is lost. Stale cheese will be useful for crafting a custom cheese on the game later.

The money that you get is for buying some cheeses and trap. And the points will become the requirement to get the better trap in this game later. The Experience you receive in this game is not based on the total points you have earned. The formula about it is hidden on the system of the game. In first time just get more points and money by hunting repeatedly.

At last here is some very useful site about how to play this game, these article must be read if you want to play this game without any single mistakes, and it will really help you to get the fun of the game faster, because the higher your level the fun will be more great because you can choose many areas for hunt.

  • Mousehunt Wiki – This site gives you all the information about trap, cheese, and mouse on this game. Where it is, How to obtain this, How to craft this, etc. You will always open it if you need some references.
  • Furoma Mousehunt Guide – At first time just see the Crash Course and follow every step that explained there.
  • Furoma Pooflinger Tools – This is advanced tools to see estimated catch rate of mouse, cheapest route, etc for you to use in advance.
  • Pooflinger Mousehuntizer – This is the very cool script to help you always remember to sound the horn when you browsing. First you have to install Greasemonkey Addon to your Firefox (Sorry this script just worked for the Firefox Browser). Then Install the script and edit the setup of the script here. After that you will get the power of the script. It can add a timer on your Mousehunt page and also on page title that when this timer reached 0, you can sound the horn and the most important part is when the timer reached zero it can be set to popup message box to your browser and when you click, it will sound the horn for you. So whenever you are browsing on your computer you will not miss any hunt. It also has advanced feature to see the summary of your hunt which is really great too, just install the addon and the script it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

If you have any further question, please don’t hesitate to write a comment.

Today I joined the ongoing battle against the army of mice invading the Kingdom of Gnawnia. The local Trapsmith sells all sorts of creative traps which I can bait with various cheese flavours from the Cheese Shoppe. I earn a modest wage of 25 gold per hour, so long as I check my trap at least once a day.

In addition to my wage, this Kingdom pays handsome rewards for the mice I catch. The larger, more powerful mice grant greater rewards than the smaller, weaker breeds. I will need my senses to be sharp, for I have heard tales of all sorts of villainous mice plaguing the Kingdom. Horrible abominations like pirates, ninjas, zombies and poisonous black widows lurk in all corners.

My most valued piece of equipment is likely my Hunter’s Horn. Sounding this magical horn starts a hunt for mice, bringing along any of the hunters I’ve befriended who are ready to hunt in my location. The rules of the horn are simple; I am only allowed to sound my horn if I have not been on a hunt in the last 15 minutes.

With patience, I know I shall stop this invading threat and defend the Kingdom!

Now begins the battle…
